The geometric design would allow for two access points towards the bar area(s) allowing for an ease of traffic through and around the bar. The space between both access points could also be used as an external bar which would accomodate for more people to be served. The raised elements within the roof would be able to hold speakers that could finish the touch of this being a bar.

I came up with the idea of designing a construction of three different parts which would host a paintings-exhibition. My design is inspired from the Dante's divine Comedy, that's why consists of three parts (hell, purgatory, heaven). Young artists from BCU that love painting and want to get noticed for their work, they can show their paintings there after a close voting system. Then, visitors and students, they can vote their favourite painting from these that they're exhibited. The winning painting will get a reward. The contruction is consisting of three different parts, an open-entrance, a hall in the middle and the final place where the paintings would be hosted. The entrance is open to the public with not so much ''timber walls'' and symbolises the first part of the book, the Hell. It's easy to go there and doesn't offer to you anything special. Then there is a middle hall, where leads you to the exhibitional room, if you choose to cross it. This hall represents the Purgatory. Finally, after crossing the hall with your free will, you are in the main room of the contruction, the Heaven. There are the paintings under the natural roof-lighting.

The structure is split in to two distinct areas which could equate to a bar, seating area and or lounge area. This would allow the bar to be more than just a place to purchase drinks but an area to socialise and relax in. The structure can also be easily extended to create more space.

My timber structure can double as an enclosure of public and private space, this is due to the wooden timber columns along the facade as well as the breaks in the back wall to reduce lift from the wind, It can be modified to become more adaptable to a bar.

The reason on why my design should be chosen is because of the open façade which both allows daylight to flood within the exterior of the building as well as setting a calm atmosphere for those inside it.

My pop-up structure was originally designed for fashion students. The structure consists of two semi circles, which meet each point in the centre of the circle. Although the pop-up is designed for fashion purposes, I believe it could also make a great bar. Due to the closed roof, and the space within which creates a spatial relation amongst arrivals and departures. The pavilion consists of two doors, each located at each side of the structure. Furthermore the pavilion is extremely easy to put together as it consists of 10 semicircles, which are spaced out using 88 rods. The interior of the structure could be used by using these spaces out semicircles as tables with modern bar chairs.

This structure should chosen because it is an experience as opposed to just going for an every day drink and you will learn about psychology and yourself just by being in there

It's circular design with four entrances would lend itself well to a circular bar allowing for optimum service for the guests and visitors to the grad show. It's semi permeable design will also allow for glimpses of the bustling bar environment inside. The structure naturally lends itself to guiding people inside with arched openings being created.

A project made for Fashion Graduate Students. A pavilion where they can presend their final year's projects.
I think this is a usefull pavilion that can be used for several occasions, not only for the graduate's event.

I would like for my Project 4 structure to be considered for production because I feel that it would make a great bar (see attached rendered image). Space wise I think the lowered roof encourages the occupants to engage with the building and it creates a level of intimacy with the people inside; the space feels cosy and comfortable. In addition to this the exaggerated opening is a welcoming entrance for a bar which will draw people to come and chill out or purchase from the bar. My final point is that the revealed skeleton structure on the inside is resembles the rustic interiors of Norwegian cabins and famous woodland bars you see in movies; this will also enhance the experience for the occupants.

My project would make an excellent bar area because it would allow the views of the exhibition to get drinks in an intimate setting separate from the rest of the event, giving them a chance to reflect upon the work they have viewed the evening.

My design would make a good bar because it is easily adaptable due to its modular structure design, it could easily be made wider - longer - and the panels could be removed in places to allow for entrances to the raise bar platform. The panels would act as environmental filters which in a loud room will be useful for hearing orders. The design itself is easy to put together and take apart in short amounts of time as the panels just slot together.
I have already proved this design can be built with my 1:1 model I built for the final Crit and it would also be a great project to add to my C.V.

A bar could be placed to the back of the right side as the space was originally designed for a small stage.

The pavilion is made out of plywood panels fixed on a simple frame making it easy to build. Although it was designed for a photography exhibition it can be used as a bar thanks to its practicality. Moreover, the play of light and shadows on the interior creates an interesting atmosphere.

My pavilion could be a good design for the bar for a number of reasons. Firstly, because it is a closed space, the bar can be placed on the outside. Secondly, my pavilion was originally designed for video/ film display, so the space had to be dark, but with artificial lighting my design will be able to create a cozy, intimate atmosphere in the bar. Thirdly, there are vertical walls which will allow shelves and a board with a list of drinks to be easily installed. Also, there is a psychological aspect - closed space will make people socialize and get to know each other.

I feel that my pop up structure could easily be transformed from its original purpose of hosting photography exhibitions to a bar/refreshments space. When I designed this structure I had a flexible, reusable space in mind.
My structure is designed to have a large internal space without intrusive structural members, I have achieved this by integrating the supporting pillars into the wall structure, these pillars support the roof beams connecting above head height. This creates an open plan space that offers a high level of flexibility allowing items of equipment to be installed and moved about with a minimum of effort.
The form of my structure highlights the atmosphere of dynamism and optimism prevalent within BCU, it is sleek, streamlined and efficient. The pine outer skin and painted white interior offer a modern space that compliments the materials present within the Parkside building.

I think my final project four exhibition space would be fitting for the end of year project as it’s a practical space for a graduation presentation space.

I believe my design would make a great bar as it is an extremely social and open space where people are able to interact. The bar could be placed in the centre.

Although this building was designed as a pop up cinema, with screens inside for private viewing, a screen on the roof and a screen under the over hang, this building could be adapted into a pop up bar. Due to its light weight timber frame structure, the building could easily be assembled and de-assembled. The adaptions I think this building needs in order to become a suitable bar would be to make it into a single storey building and open on one or two of the sides so it is not so contained.

Inspired from cubism, my pavilion has both form and function. It has a unique shape that creates interesting patterns through shadows which can be appreciated when walking through. It is inclusive yet open to the surroundings allowing it to be multifunctional.
